BANGALORE: Virdhawal Khade won the 50m freestyle men’s Group ‘A’ (18 & above)

BANGALORE: Virdhawal Khade won the 50m freestyle men’s Group ‘A’ (18 & above) gold in 22.55s in the Asian age group aquatic championship at Tokyo on Thursday.

Khade finished the meet with a haul of four gold (50, 100 and 200m freestyle and 100m butterfly) and one silver (50m butterfly).

Richa Misra won the 1,500m freestyle for women (Group A, 18 and above) in 17m33.35s.

Aaron D’Souza and Rehan Poncha bagged a silver each. Aaron took the second spot in 400m freestyle in men’s Group ‘B’ (15 to 17), clocking 4:03.61s. Rehan claimed the silver in 200m butterfly with 2:00.70s..

The Indian squad of Pulkit Kumar, Jaywanth Vijay Kumar, A.P. Gagan and Aaron took the bronze in the 4x100m freestyle in men’s Group ‘B’ in 3:36.90s. The Indian team won a bronze in water polo.

Hruthika Shriram claimed a silver in high board diving and a bronze in 3m spring board in the women’s open section.
