swimming-pool-diagramBANGALORE: India boosted by its swimming contingent and badminton players leapfrogged into the third spot in the overall medals tally on the penultimate day of the Fourth International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports (IWAS) World Games 2009 with a staggering 55 medals.
India won 15 gold, 18 silver and 22 bronze medals.

China, dominating the pool, surged into the top spot with 40 gold, 16 silver and four bronze medals while Germany had 19 gold, eight silver and five bronze to show for its week long efforts.

Thailand and Russia followed India with 38 and 31 medals.
