HANOI: The Indian men’s swimming 4x100m freestyle relay team won the bronze in the Asian Indoor Games here on Thursday.
The team of Aaron D’Souza, Rehan Poncha, Arjun Jayaprakash and Virdhawal Khade clocked 3:18.85. Uzbekistan (3:17.33) and Iran (3:17.81) took the gold and silver.
In the women’s 4x100m freestyle final, India finished seventh in 3:57.67.
Khade (53.24s) came fourth in the men’s 100m butterfly final while Sandeep Sejwal (27.71s) was also fourth in the men’s 50m breaststroke final.
Bronze collection
India swelled its bronze collection through K. Sasikiran in men’s rapid chess while Dronavalli Harika had won another bronze in women’s rapid chess on Wednesday.
Kick-boxers added four bronze while in kurash India took two bronze medals, bringing its total to 27 with three gold, six silver and 18 bronze medals.
Silver for Indian women
The Indian women bagged a silver medal in the 3-on-3 basketball event. India outplayed Jordan 34-22 and beat host Vietnam 33-13 before losing to Thailand 32-33.
In its last league match, India defeated Kuwait 35-10 to finish second on the basis of its overall performance. Thailand won the gold medal.
