Chennai: Armaan Ebrahim ended his Formula Two season with a 10th-place finish at the Circuit de Catalunya at Barcelona, Spain, on Sunday, a result that took the Indian racer’s tally for the season to seven points from 16 races.
After an impressive drive in the second practice session on Friday, where he was second-fastest overall, Armaan lost three-tenths of a second after a mistake in the final corner of sector three during his final qualifying lap on Saturday. This meant he started the final race of the season in ninth place.
“Barcelona was a good weekend and it is very satisfying that I was able to be in the top five throughout the weekend’s practice. A small mistake at the last corner cost me the pole or at least P2 in qualifying,” said Armaan at the conclusion of the race.
Looking back at his season, Armaan said, “Personally, it has been an intensely challenging year and I am pleased with my first full season in Europe.
“I now look forward to securing a proper budget to do the right amount of winter testing which will then prepare me to attack the Formula 2 championship title next year, which is where my sights are set.”
