NEW DELHI: The Indian football team will leave for Dubai on Friday after completion of its visa formalities. Earlier, the team was to leave for the tour of the Gulf nation and Spain on Thursday.
A 27-member team will travel to Dubai to train there with state-of-the-art facilities. A trimmed squad consisting of 24 players will travel to Spain where it will practice in Barcelona. The Indian side will play four or five matches against regional clubs teams.
The tour is likely to help the players for the forthcoming Nehru Cup in which India is the defending champion.
Meanwhile, the Sports Ministry has sanctioned the grant for the tour ending the speculation about the delay in allotting the money.
