KOCHI: Maharashtra’s Hubert Miranda won the above-60 men’s singles badminton gold in the World Masters Games which ended in Sydney early this week.
Hubert, who won the above-60 World title in Spain recently, brushed aside Canada’s Ian Bishop in the final of the elite Grade ‘A’ event which is open to internationals and national team players.
Kochi’s Alosious Pulikkal and Hyderabad BPCL’s Joseph Augustine bagged the above-40 men’s doubles silver in the Grade ‘C’ event which is open to club-level players while former Kerala State star John of Matha clinched a bronze in the above-40 mixed doubles with Australian Denise Chin in Grade ‘B’ where entry is restricted to State or provincial players.
