Loyola has a long tradition of excellence in sports. Its active encouragement of sporting accomplishment and the College's many facilities for practice are very well-known. Besides several of India's biggest names in sports history having passed through its portals, the College regularly contributes a large number of sportsmen to the University of Madras and other state and national teams. Many have represented these institutions at State, National and International tournaments, and have won many a prestigious laurel.
