The tour of Kangra - Be there !!!REGISTER HERE - http://www.tourofkangra.com/register

Happy Lohri ! to you all ..

As we step into the new year, and gear ourselves up for our first epic ride into the Himalayas - "The tour of Kangra" here is raising a toast to all of you who have registered online.

Things are set and we all depart from Delhi on the evening of the 25th January at 2100 hrs from Himachal Bhavan, (Near Mandi House) Safdar Hashmi Marg, New Delhi. We expect everyone to arrive here by 2030hrs. Remember your bikes would be going in a separate truck, so dont forget your bike boxes.

The weather god's seemingly are smiling on the Dhauladhar's and we expect it to be sunny days. The mornings and evenings are going to be cold so a fleece, a wind cheater, a woolen sweater would be really helpful. Another thing important is Gloves. Many of you are asking about the need for a torch. Well first when traveling you shouls always have it and in here it's about getting around at the camps. NOPE we are not riding in the dark. Elbow and Knee guards are recommended.

We are excited about the sail to Ransar island where we would be camping and also about Andretta. Put a brief experience of riding the mountain railway some where in there.

SO that's about it from us right now - We have 46 people who have registered so far - and there are still places to go ..

Till 15th January. Register now on www.tourofkangra.com or call Dhananjay +91-92186-02040.

A magical, enchanting ride THE TOUR OF KANGRA

BE THERE,

The first day finds us pedaling 90 kms through the heart of the valley passing ancient villages (Andretta, Paragpur) and the Masroor Rock temples to reach the banks of the Maharana Pratap Saagar (a.k.a Pong dam reservoir) where we set up our camp for the night. It’s an easy day almost flat out with most of the riding on paved roads and some single track through rice and paddy fields. The second day of the ride is an amazing ride, where we ride some distance alongside the railway tracks to catch up with the paved road again and then riding the last 16 kms through a single track through rolling- meadows to reach our destination at Bir, also famous as being the best site for paragliding in the world. The second night finds us staying in Hotels. The third day ride is a thrilling ride through the tea gardens of Palampur and village roads. A little detour is visiting the Wildlife park at Gopalpur sampling the Himalayan flora and fauna and then again continuing the ride towards Dharamshala. An early arrival in Dharamshala finds us bidding farewell as we raise toasts yet again for the wonderful three days of riding fun, fitness and freedom in the Kangra valley.
